1tbMargarine
2tbCarrot, diced
2tbOnion, diced
2tbTomato puree
1/2 Garlic clove
  Thyme leaves, dash
1tbFlour
2tbCelery, diced
1cBeef broth (fat skimmed)
1 Bay leaf
  Pepper, dash

Melt margarine. Add flour and cook for 3 minutes. Add vegetables and cook for 5 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from heat and stir in broth. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes. Let cool slightly. Remove bay leaf and process in blender until smooth.
